Magistrate shot by police officer during a court session in Makadara Law Courts

In a shocking turn of events at the Makadara Law Courts in Nairobi, a senior police officer met his death after shooting and injuring Principal Magistrate Monica Kivuti. The magistrate had just wrapped up a case involving the officer’s wife when the unfortunate incident occurred.

The senior officer, who holds the position of Officer Commanding Station in Kisumu, had made the trip to Nairobi to support his wife, who was a suspect in a case seeking release pending further proceedings.

The courtroom was set up in a tent outside the main court building, adding an element of drama to the already tense situation. Following the magistrate’s ruling, the officer took matters into his own hands and fired at her from behind the tent.

Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei reported that fellow officers swiftly responded by shooting the officer, ultimately leading to his demise. Unfortunately, a bystander was also caught in the crossfire and sustained injuries.
