Nyako raises ksgh 500k for former Citizen TV presenter Kimani Mbugua in under 2 hrs on tiktok

The days of struggle and uncertainty for former Citizen TV presenter Kimani Mbugua could as well be over, thanks to support from Kenyans.

This is after TikToker Nyako helped the embattled media personality raise an impressive KSh 500,000 through a live video. Nyako, nicknamed The Chosen One, came to Mbugua’s aid after he came out publicly to reveal that he was homeless.

Levi Knowles, one of those who were handling the case, revealed that they had managed to collect the money in one and a half hours.

Mbugua, a once-popular television presenter famed for his charisma and engaging personality, fell from grace when he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

The beloved presenter, who had enjoyed a successful media career, soon plunged into a series of misfortunes that left him tittering on hopelessness.

He claims someone close to him sold his car while he was away at a mental hospital, which is why he is in KSh 1.7 million debt. “I am also homeless, guys. Whoever has been hosting me asked me to find alternative accommodation,” he said in the video.

With unemployment, homelessness, and debt choking the young journalist, he decided to reach out to fans for help through a video.

He expressed optimism that as much as he is down at the moment, he has a solid business idea that can help fling him back up. Mbugua explained that he needed to register a company and then raise KSh 200,000 for the idea to pick up. With over half a million shillings raised, many hope that the young, promising journalist will finally find his footing and jostle his way out of strife.
