Why Kimiti Wanjaria saw death as the better option

When Death Feels Like a Good Option, The Dark Side to Business

The makeup of an entrepreneur is that they tend to be thrilled by playing an all or nothing kind of game. The highs are awesome, but the lows are terrible and seem to last a lifetime. A prolonged Low has the potential to dehumanize and alter a person permanently.

An entrepreneur is not only supporting his staff and those attached to him financially through the business, but also must provide some form of emotional support because these guys problems tend to also become your problem often. Unfortunately, it is hardly ever the other way round. These same guys generally never care if you have your own problems-provided they are paid ON TIME (Understandable-since you are the bearer of the vision-not them).

This horrendous trap of feeling miserable must find an outlet. For some it’s debauchery, others spirituality and for others like Kimiti Wanjaria death was the better option. I doubt there is an entrepreneur who will judge his action. Research on the internet will list hundreds of successful entrepreneurs who have taken their own life. The feeling of being trapped is the highest risk factor to an entrepreneur. This risk is ever present. It can be absent today and, in a day, your world comes crashing down at a speed that does not respond to emergency brakes.

Devoid of a solid support system, I would have given up on this thing years ago. Many times, it has not felt worth it, knowing that it could all end in an instant, even with business flowing in faster than I can execute it at the time.

The humiliation, rejection and feelings of failure are intolerable for most. Fare thee well Kimiti Wanjaria.
