Carrefour ‘lion’ terrorizes a village in Meru

A Carrefour supermarket shopping bag has reportedly sent residents of the Kiangua area in Imenti South, Meru County into a frenzy over fears of a big cat in their midst.

Photos shared online by Twitter user @AKenyanGirl on Thursday show the bag, with its signature lion face branding, hidden under a leafy shrub.

In the bag are avocado seedlings which give it bag a ‘filled up’ look, making it easy to pass for a lion’s head peeping from under the bush.

After spotting the ‘dangerous feline’ within their area, the story goes that they quickly called the Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) officers to take it away.

One of the photos shows a KWS warden assessing the bag!
