Couple living in USA who had visited home brutally butchered in Kisii

Not far from my village, a couple living in USA who had visited home were brutally butchered on Monday night in Gesima, Kitutu Masaba. Yesterday, I visited the well secured home and heard most horrifying story in my life. Edward Morema and his wife Grace were good people.

According to the week-old maid, she prepared food and served the elderly couple. There was a “visitor” who was very free with them meaning they new him well. She went upstairs to sleep. Outside, the Shamba boy who rarely steps in main house closed gate as usual.

The couple remained downstairs with their visitor who is still mysterious and couldn’t be identified by the two workers. In the morning, the maid woke up and went to prepare breakfast. She assumed everyone is ok. For one week, she mastered that they wake up around 9am.

A grandson of their who doesn’t stay within could not reach them on phone. The old man was rarely offline because he has solar power. At 10am, the maid went upstairs to check when an alarm was raised. She couldn’t trace them. Search within the house was carried out.

The old man was found stabbed, tied and killed in his in-house parking lot while the Grandma was traced murdered and placed on the bed in the children’s bedroom downstairs. They were all killed in a well coordinated manner. All steel doors in various rooms and main gate are not broken.

However, there is some evidence that killers used an opening to get into the compound. Who was this stranger in the house that the workers couldn’t identify? He was reportedly having normal friendly chat. What was the motive of brutal death? Very tough questions.

Police should expedite investigations and bring to book the killers. The house has CCTV but we are not sure whether they were on. It is a remote village about 13KM from Keroka and not far from the home of slain Maseno University student who was killed by police.

A source tells me the woman in question was linked to the death of husband (Prof. Mosoti of USIU) who is a relative to Mr. Edward. Prof. and Edward had bought a property in Ruai and divided it into two, started developing it separately.
Mosoti registered his portion under the 1st wife who he later separated with. He divided it into two and built a home for notorious 2nd wife who the family accuses for the don’s death. The don had left his matrimonial home before death and was planning to reconcile with 1st wife.
Emerging theories contend that Edward has never forgiven the woman for the death of Prof. He has been working quietly with first wife of Mosoti to sell the entire property of the don so as to punish the woman. It is alleged that the lethal woman had a second plan! It worked.
I am told there was power outage and the victims were using solar. The killers deactivated the CCTV and dismantled it. They also went with the deceased and his wife’s phones. Kenya’s homicide department has the capacity to trace them. They should be arrested soon.
