How to Apply & Renew Nairobi Single Business Permit

To get ready for application of the permit, you must  Register your business/ Register your Company. 

Costs involved: 

• Application fee Ksh 200 
• Permit fee: will be around Ksh 15,000 per year for a small shop

Documents required: 

• Copy of certificate of Incorporation / Business Registration Certificate
• Copy of company KRA Pin certificate 
• The physical address, land zone, and plot number 
• National ID/ Alien ID/ Passport number

Online Permit Application / Renewal Process

For online Application / renewal, get an internet connected device, mobile money, your contact details and business identification number.

Do the following; 

1. Log onto the Nairobi county self-service portal and click on renew.  
2. Enter your business identification number then enter the year you want to Apply / renew.
3. You will be directed to the check status page, here you can view the business status and costs of the application / renewal. Also penalties for late payment if any and business permits for the previous year.\
4. If it’s you are logging in for the first time, you will see ” a wallet does not have any funds message”. Below the message, there is tab for top-up, click to top-up. 
5. In the E-wallet enter your phone number and amount required . 
6. Enter our password and click submit. 
7. Choose a payment method and make payment and receive confirmation.  
8. Enter your pin and submit the application details. 
9. Now you can print your business permit and  the receipt.  
10. Display the downloaded business permit at the business as required .
