Autopsy has revealed that Philomena Njeri, who was allegedly killed by her husband Jonathan Mukundi in Kiambu, was not pregnant. The postmortem examination of her body uncovered crucial information quite different to what was reported by the media about her death. Njeri died of three gunshots that were hit on her head by the husband Jonathan Gachunga.
According to the report, Gachunga died from a single shot which was fired on the right side of his head and exited to the left. What has emerged as big news is the fact that Njeri was not pregnant when she was killed. Media reports had claimed that the woman was killed after she came back home pregnant and that the husband became agitated and shot her over infidelity. Well, she was medically found not to have been pregnant. Njeri, it was widely reported had left the husband for two months and came back pregnant, something her hubby of 12 years could not take it.
He decided to shot her and let killed him for that reason. The incident has become a subject of discussion among Kenyans who thought that the woman had betrayed the hubby. According to sources, Njeri had stayed in that marriage for 12 years and was yet to give Gachunga a child. Her friends said she always wanted to be a mother and wherever she met her friends she always talked of wanting to be pregnant. Earlier reports also indicate that Njeri had started a romantic affair with one of her workers, something that caused their feud.
