A Milimani law court has allowed Police to hold the primary suspect in the murder of Nairobi Hospital Finance Director Eric Maigo for 21 days to conduct investigations.
The teenager, who had been evading authorities since last Thursday, was captured in Kibra by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
The teenager was presented to the Milimani law Courts presided over by the Principal Magistrate Zainab Abdul who agreed to the request presented on holding the girl for investigations.
On the morning of September 26, the suspect was in custody at Muthaiga Police Station, awaiting her transfer to Kilimani Police Station, which is overseeing the investigation.
Maigo was brutally stabbed 25 times on the morning of Friday, September 15 .
The DCI disclosed that images of the suspect, widely circulated on the internet on Thursday, led to the recovery of the clothing she had worn.
“The clothes a red checkered shirt and a grey pair of animal-print pants were found in a semi-permanent wooden shack in Bombolulu village, deep inside the sprawling Kibira settlement,” the DCI said.
She is said to have sat her KCPE examination at the Dagoretti-approved school between 2021 and 2022.
