This man killed his wife over suspected cheating in a busaa den

Police in Siaya County have arrested a 30-year-old man who is alleged to have killed his 36-year-old wife following a domestic row.

 

The man who has been identified as Samuel Ouma is said to have murdered the wife, Veronica Gathoni over suspected infidelity.   

 

According to South Ugenya location chief Christopher Muliro, the man who is a boda boda operator is said to have gone with the wife to a busaa drinking den at the nearby Lana trading center where they drunk for a while before leaving the wife behind as he went to pick a customer.        

The administrator says that after some time, the suspect returned to the busaa drinking den at 8.00 pm after he went home and discovered that the wife had not yet gone back home.

 

At the busaa den, the man is said to have picked the wife and then started beating her up on their way home only for her to be discovered dead Monday morning.

 

The chief said that according to the woman’s 18-year-old daughter Elizabeth Njeri, her mother’s body was found lying in a pool of blood within their compound Monday morning.

 

The suspect had initially gone into hiding before he was later arrested.

 

The woman’s body has since been moved to Ambira Sub-county hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem.
