What’s A-Frame House Design?

It’s a construction design consists of two steeply angled roof-line that usually begin at the plinth level,the sloping sides that meet at the top to form a triangle with the base of the triangle being the ground beam or slab hence resembling letter “A”.

 

ADVANTAGES

 

1. Efficient use of Materials:-they require fewer materials to construct than traditional designs leading to cost saving & a eco-friendly building process.
2. Weather Resistance:-The steeply pitched roof helps to shed snow & rain easily, reducing the risk of roof damage & leaks.
3. Ease of construction: The relatively quick and straightforward construction process can save time and labour costs.
4. Open and Versatile Interiors: The A-frame design often results in an open floor plan with high ceilings, creating a spacious and airy interior finishes.

Often times referred to as an extrusion structure, this repetitive framing process allows for a faster build time.

 

The A-frame design is also receiving some interest in the Kenyan market in the room it gives for creativity as a house owner can play around with the open space.

 

Additionally, the houses are liked because of the natural lighting that gets in the house, given the slanting positioning of the wall.

 

Notably, several developers have taken advantage of the iconic designs to build houses for short-term rentals, such as Airbnb, among others. House designs are also common in tourist destinations.
